A nice, small, evergreen shrub for a shady spot in your garden, Sarcococca orientalis has larger leaves than other Sarcococca species, but with the same, small, fragrant white flowers in mid-winter. The fruit is glossy black when mature. Height 3 plus feet; where happy it will sucker out into wider colonies. For what it's worth, my favorite sarcococca. Zones 6 - 8.
