Yuuge Climbing Hydrangea Vine - 1 gallon
Yuuge Climbing Hydrangea Vine - 1 gallon Another of the Chinese climbing hydrangea vines, Schizophragma megalocarpum has yuuge blooms, often a foot across (see photo of faded partial bloom on gloved hand). It is a true climber and needs a stout structure or solid wall to support it. If planted on a tall tree, it could easily be 40-50 feet. Collected in China by Ozzie Johnson and Scott McMahan (photos courtesy of Scott) - the hand in the glove is Ozzie’s; remember:"if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit" so let Ozzie off. We’ve only had it for a few years so don’t know its cold hardiness but are estimating Zones (6)7 - 9. The lacecap type flowers are ringed with marginal white flowers consisting of a single very large sepal. Surprisingly it has been semi-deciduous for us over the last 3 winters.
