Hydrangea serrrata ’Maiko’ is another small, appearing as a delicate selection from Japan. Unlike most serratas, however, ’Maiko’ is mostly a mophead not a lacecap, of pastel bent, pink tones and limey green, quite delightful. All parts are thinner and smaller than big rambunctious macrophyllas. Stems are thin and curved. Excellent plant for a small mostly shady corner of your garden. Deciduous and quite short, to 3’ or so, for zones 5-8.
