Description

Soil:

Daylilies are pretty adaptable and perform well in a wide range of soils but generally prefer deep, fertile loam. They are easily grown in well-drained soil with medium moisture.

Light:

Daylilies are sun-loving plants and require full sun (> 6 hours sun) to part sun (4-6 hours sun) in order to thrive. Light afternoon shade will keep brightly colored flowers from fading.

Water:

After planting, water daylilies daily until established, then once a week. Additional watering can be beneficial if rainfall is less than 1 inch per week during the summer. In spring, a thin layer of mulch can also help retain soil moisture. It’s important never to let this perennial fully dry out!

Fertilizing:

It does not require fertilization, but if desired, an all-purpose garden fertilizer can be applied to your daylilies in spring.

Winterizing:

Winterizing your daylily plants is fairly simple. Just leave spent foliage in place over winter. That’s it!

Maintenance & Pruning:

In spring, remove all old foliage from your daylily plants before new growth appears. Deadhead spent flowers and cut back empty flower stalks.

Seems to be ok. Just waiting for Spring. I had no direction for planting.

Light: Sun (> 6 hours sun) to part sun (4-6 hours sun). Light afternoon shade will keep brightly colored flowers from fading.
Water: Water plants during the summer if rainfall is less than 1 inch per week. Benefits from a thin layer of mulch in spring to retain soil moisture.

Plants

You would think the plants for the price paid, they would be bigger! Deceiving upon delivery!

Also on delivery, even though packaging was good, the soil spilled out of all the plant pots. And what was sent per the order, there were missing plants. The time frame stated was in the planning but due to missing plants, I had to plant them myself, as my landscaper was to plant them and charged me for the planting. He was long gone! I am not as young as I used to be, having to plant them myself, was painful.

Only time will tell by the spring if they survive per the guarantee time frame.

Hello! We're sorry you are not satisfied with your plants! We do note that all of our plants are young on each product page and on our plant sizes page https://www.greatgardenplants.com/pages/sizes.The size and maturity of the plants varies widely depending on the time of the year you purchased and if they were recently trimmed. The important thing when it comes to purchasing plants, whether online or in a garden center, is that they have a full, robust root system, and that's what we prioritize in our greenhouses. The more roots a plant has, the more energy it can put into growing once it is planted in your garden. We do keep our plants trimmed to encourage strong root development! If you are in need of further assistance, please reach out to claims@greatgardenplants.com. Rest assured, we have a guarantee on all our plants. Our fall guarantee covers plants received after September 1 until May 2024! If you received your plants within that timeframe, we would happily apply your warranty once we receive the pictures. Happy Gardening!

Looking good

They arrived in good condition and still look healthy since being transplanted to a container garden. I have hopes for them here in Zone 9a of Florida.
