Soil:

Foxglove plants prefer average to sandy, well-draining soil.

Light:

This plant grows best in full sun (>6+ hours sun/day) or part sun (4-6 hours sun). Foxglove can also benefit from afternoon shade, especially in areas with high summer temperatures.

Water:

Foxglove has average water needs, needing occasional watering during the hot season after establishment.

Fertilizing:

Lightly fertilize your foxglove plants in the spring.

Winterizing:

Leave spent foliage in place over winter to help protect the foxglove's crown. Wait until early spring to cut it back to promote new growth for the season.

Maintenance & Pruning:

Cutting and creating cut flower bouquets helps to encourage a second flush of blooms. Plus, it looks beautiful! Deadhead or pinch flowers once a week to tidy up your perennial bed.
