Foxglove plants prefer average to sandy, well-draining soil.

This plant grows best in full sun (>6+ hours sun/day) or part sun (4-6 hours sun). Foxglove can also benefit from afternoon shade, especially in areas with high summer temperatures.

Foxglove has average water needs, needing occasional watering during the hot season after establishment.

Lightly fertilize your foxglove plants in the spring.

Leave spent foliage in place over winter to help protect the foxglove's crown. Wait until early spring to cut it back to promote new growth for the season.

Maintenance & Pruning:

Cutting and creating cut flower bouquets helps to encourage a second flush of blooms. Plus, it looks beautiful! Deadhead or pinch flowers once a week to tidy up your perennial bed.

Great Size and Very Good Condition

I ordered 9 plants. All arrived healthy and packaged well. I have planted 3 so far and they are all growing and blooming. Just remove any damaged or brown leaves and if you don’t plant right away%2C make sure you water daily as the soil will dry out quickly.

Foxglove are beautiful but…

It’s important to know, Yes, foxgloves (Digitalis purpurea) are poisonous and can be fatal if eaten in large quantities. All parts of the plant are toxic, including the leaves, and can cause severe poisoning if ingested. Symptoms include nausea, headache, skin irritation, and diarrhea.

Superior Plants! (Really!!)

Having been disappointed with lupines from certain other providers, we took a chance and ordered from you. Yes they were somewhat more expensive. But, goodness, the quality of the plants in the shipment far exceeded what we could have hoped for let alone expected. So afterward, though planting season was drawing to its end, I ordered some other perennials for our garden. Once more, each plant of each variety was strong and healthy and surely will be off to a good start. So I am completely sold on your outstanding stock; your company will be my go-to source for garden plants in years to come. Many thanks indeed!
