Description

Soil:

Black-eyed Susan plants require average, dry to medium, well-draining soil to grow.

Light:

This perennial tolerates some light shade but flowers best in full sun (> 6 hours of sun).

Water:

Water black-eyed Susan regularly until the plant is established. Once established, it does tolerate some mild drought.

Fertilizing:

Go easy on the fertilizer. Too much will result in weak stems and plants. A side dressing of compost should be all they'll need.

Winterizing:

You can let the last flowers of the season remain on the plants to go to seed and feed the birds.

Maintenance & Pruning:

Deadhead black-eyed Susan to prolong bloom. Divide when clumps become overcrowded. Rudbeckias don't generally die out in the center and don't require frequent division.

Did you receive an order after September 1? If so, it falls under our fall guarantee. We want to ensure your plants establish in your garden and return the following spring. Therefore, the warranty on your plants is extended to May 31 the next year. Ensure you contact us with images, your order number, and a description of the problem before May 31.

SHORTAGES/DAMAGES

Any plant shipped dormant in the spring is guaranteed to break dormancy even if it takes more than one month. Call us directly if you have any concerns.

REFUNDS

A plant refund is based on the plant cost less discounts and shipping charges.  Allow up to 2 weeks for processing. We reserve the right to request a return of an item.

Quality

I initially received 6 Goldstrum Black eyed Susan’s and the plants were practically dead. I asked for a replacement and the team was great about sending some new replacements. I was disappointed that they only sent 2 replacements. They are growing slowly, I had to cut them down to let new growth happen and they are not the same quality as the 12 other plants I bought at the same time. The 12 other plants are not the same type. They are wonderful. I was so disappointed with the Black eyed Susan’s. Sorry, but I will not be buying again from you.
